Introduction With global attention paid to the energy-saving solutions for the future, Korea¡¯s solar/PV industry goes at full tilt. Based on industry-leading technologies and manufacturing infrastructure of semiconductors, flat panel display and LEDs, Korea lately began to accelerate the commercial engines of this uprising market.
ETRI, a government-sponsored R&D center, heavily cashes US $50 million into the R&D of large thin-film solar cells. While DC Chemical expands polysilicon production capacity to 26,000 tons per year to rank the global second, SolarWorld AG is ready to roll out PV modules through its joint venture with a local company, Soar Park engineering, starting in 2009.
Woongjin Energy, in the meantime, invests some $220 million to the production of silicon ingots by 2012. With Samsung SDS constructing a 50MW-grade PV power generation, Erae PolySilicon takes overseas strides. The technology-dynamic country of Korea, all in all, sees a wave of new Solar/PV clusters every nook and corner.
In line with this, Display + partners with IT Conference, a technology event specialist organizer, to come out with Korea¡¯s first solar/PV B2B trade show on September 23. We invite you to a ¡®must¡¯ opportunity to enjoy the business networking and the latest information on the ¡°hot¡± market of Korea.
See you at Solar/PV Summit Korea 2008!
